We have a large team of judges who are either scientists or engineers and/or employees working within the energy/engineering industry. 

Judging takes place the day you drop off your projects and doors are closed for confidentiality. We have three teams of judges, the first choose their top 6 projects in each category, then we have the second and third teams do the same. 

Once the top 6 projects have been agreed we have a final moderation of the top projects to ensure a due and fair process.

The teams consider the following whilst looking at projects:

• How creative and inventive overall
• How clearly the information method/poster/display is presented
• Is there creative use of materials
• Is the project a result of careful planning
• How unique or innovative is the idea
• How technically accurate is the model design.
• Is the display visually appealing.
