Sheree was the creator of the inaugural science fair back in 2012 after identifying a gap in STEM delivery within primary schools in the Taranaki region. Her primary role is director of workforce development for Energy Skills Aotearoa and she is super passionate about encouraging and supporting students to learn about the world of science and engineering.
Mike has worked in the energy industry for many years in senior management roles and is now happily retired with his wife Carol. He has many grandchildren that have participated in the fair either as student helpers or exhibitors over the years. Mike has been our MC for 5 years now and thoroughly enjoys seeing the enthusiasm in students as they discuss their amazing projects with industry professionals. Mike has a keen interest in encouraging Tamariki in the Taranaki region to consider STEM as a real employment opportunity for their future.
Nikyla is about to complete her final year of secondary school this year and is off to study business at Massey University. She has been the student coordination lead for two years now and absolutely loves doing her bit to support young students in their educational journeys. Nikyla is super organised and provides a fantastic energy throughout the delivery of the fair.
Caroline has been a key support coordination point for the fair since 2016. She has a strong interest in science and engineering with her and her family being a part of the energy industry dating back decades. She has a young son at school and is enthusiastic for young people to learn and understand more about their surroundings and the world around them.
